The Trentham Estate remains open in line with Government Guidelines as lockdown restrictions begin to ease. This includes the Gardens for exercise or to meet friends and family (within current guidelines), the Shopping Village and Garden Centre for 'offline shopping' and retail therapy, and indoor and outdoor hospitality.
Now more than ever, The Trentham Estate plays a really important role in providing access to fresh, outdoor space supporting wellbeing and mental health. We are therefore pleased to continue to offer our community a safe antidote during this really difficult time.

We are currently operating the Gardens at a limited capacity, with access only available via pre-booked, half hour slots, and a one-way system in place.
We have implemented socially distanced queuing systems and made visiting completely contactless. We have hand-sanitising stations, enhanced checks and cleaning throughout the Estate to ensure visitors can feel as protected as possible.
What COVID safety measures are in place to keep visitors safe?
The safety of our staff, our volunteers and visitors is our priority. We have a number of measures in place, as outlined, to ensure we can remain open to access the Trentham Gardens for exercise and fresh air.

Visiting the Gardens
Do I have to pre-book a visit to The Gardens?
Yes. To ensure social distancing can be maintained we are limiting the number of visitors so both Members and Day Visitors will need to pre-book if they wish to visit the gardens. Please book your visit here.
Members, please note: Although you must follow the payment process, right through to getting a booking confirmation, there will be no charge. Don't forget to tick to accept our terms and conditions.
Can I travel to Trentham from another area?
Please review the Government Guidelines in line with your personal circumstances and follow the restrictions as they apply. Always refer to Government Guidelines to check for the most up to date advice.
What is considered as ‘local’ to The Trentham Estate?
We are unable to provide further interpretation or legal guidance on individual travel guidelines and ask visitors to follow the restrictions as they apply to them. We will continue to monitor travel guidelines and ask visitors to do the same. Government guidelines can be found here: www.gov.uk/coronavirus
Do members have to pre-book?
Yes, to ensure social distancing we are limiting capacity. Please pre-book your arrival slot. Although you must follow the payment process through to receiving a booking confirmation, there will be no charge. Don't forget to accept our terms and conditions to proceed with the booking.
Will I have to queue to enter the gardens?
On busier days, such as weekends, school holidays and bank holidays - and at busier times of the day, usually 10am to midday - queues to access the gardens can be expected. Social distancing whilst queuing is still a requirement, so please ensure a 2m distance between yourself and other visitors.
Can I book a visit on the day?
Slots can get booked quickly so it is advisable to always book online in advance, to avoid disappointment
Can Trentham pre-book a visit for me?
No, you must register and book your slots online.
Can I cancel my tickets?
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Please see our Terms & Conditions. In exceptional circumstances such as forced closure due to extreme weather conditions, please contact us with your booking reference and request a transfer date for your visit.
Are the shops open?
Yes, Trentham Shopping Village is open. See the shopping village page for shop opening times and more information.
Do I need to wear a face mask?
We ask our visitors to wear face coverings throughout the Estate in enclosed areas and through our visitor entrances
What do you mean by ‘other enclosed spaces’?
Face coverings are required in enclosed spaces where you may encounter people you don’t usually meet. This includes our reception areas, toilet facilities, and other indoor settings.
There will be a note on the booking system reminding visitors to bring a face covering and, where possible, signs on site. Staff and volunteers will be on hand should visitors have further questions, but please do bring a covering with you.
Will you refuse entry to those who do not wear a face covering?
We ask our visitors to follow the Government guidelines, social distancing and wear a mask where appropriate and stipulated.
We are operating our car park on a reduced capacity and in accordance with pre-booked tickets. Only those with pre-booked tickets and visiting essential shops should use the car park.
Are the toilets open?
Our toilets remain open for use. Please follow the onsite guidelines when using these facilities.
I don’t live locally so am unable to visit. Will my membership be paused or extended during the pandemic?
The Trentham Estate remains open and plays an important role in providing access to outdoor space supporting mental health and wellbeing. We continue to offer our community space to exercise and enjoy the natural beauty of the Estate in line with Government Guidelines.
We are committed to caring for the Gardens’ horticulture, our wildlife and conservation programmes and the preservation of our ancient woodland, which is a protected Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Your annual membership supports the important work of our Gardeners and Estate team who work on site. We therefore hope that, as a member, you will continue to support nature during the pandemic, for everyone’s future enjoyment.

My membership has expired. How can I book a visit?
You can purchase a day ticket online which can be redeemed towards the cost of a membership when you visit. You will need the day ticket booking reference for proof of purchase.
How do I replace my lost membership card?
There is an administration charge of £5 for a replacement card. Replacements can be purchased at the Gardens Entrance.
The online ticketing system says that my pass is invalid and I am unable to book a slot.

I want to become a Trentham Gardens member. How do I purchase a membership?
How do I obtain passes for my son/daughter who has recently turned three?
Please purchase at the Gardens Entrance or online.
Do I need to book a ticket for a child under 3?
No, children under 3 access the gardens free of charge and no ticket is required.
Why can’t I book a carers ticket?
You do not have to pre-book a separate carers tickets, just book a Disabled Person’s ticket for yourself and a carers pass will be allocated. You will still need to bring your carers pass, as proof.
Can I hire a wheelchair?
Yes, wheelchairs are free to hire from the Gardens entrance on a first-come first-serve basis.
Can I purchase Gift Vouchers for Trentham?
Yes, you can purchase gift vouchers for memberships and day tickets for The Gardens, these can be purchased online or at The Gardens entrance. Vouchers for the retail shops can be bought directly with each retailer.
Do I need to print my tickets?
To speed up the entry time, please either print your tickets or download the QR code to your phone.
I can’t find my tickets – can I still visit?
If you booked online, please log in to your account and you will see the bookings you have made on the ‘Account’ page under ‘Your Bookings’. Note down your booking reference and quote this at the gardens entrance. If you pre-booked at the Gardens Entrance, then we will search for your booking on arrival using your surname and postcode.
Can we access the Gardens from the South entrance?
Unfortunately, this is remaining closed until further notice so we can manage numbers entering the gardens and implement the one-way system around the lake.
How are we informed of closures to the Gardens?
We announce any path/garden closures on the home page of our website and on our social media channels – please check prior to travelling and booking tickets. Announcements cannot be made until all checks have been carried out by the grounds team which may cause a delay in opening.
Can I bring my dog with me?
Yes, dogs are welcome in the Gardens and Shopping Village, except during specific event days and evenings. Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times and kept out of the play area. More information can be found here
