Visiting Trentham from Monday 19 July
Following the UK Government’s announcement regarding Step Four of the Roadmap being given the go ahead, there are a few changes which will take effect from Monday 19 July at Trentham.
The safety and wellbeing of our visitors, team members and retail partners continues to be our top priority. We are following Government guidance and will be operating a cautious and gradual approach to the easing of Covid-19 safety measures.

If you have tested positive for Covid-19, been asked to self-isolate or someone you’re visiting with shows symptoms, please do not attempt to visit. If you develop symptoms during your visit, we ask that you end your visit immediately and observe social distancing at all times.
We have enhanced checks and cleaning throughout the Estate to ensure visitors can feel as safe as possible.
What COVID safety measures are in place to keep visitors safe?
The safety of our staff, our volunteers and visitors is our priority. We have a number of measures in place, as outlined, to ensure we can keep everyone as safe as possible:
- Pre-booking system for day visitors.
- Support the Government Test and Trace and enable visitors to check in.
- Regular cleaning on-site toilets and touchpoints.
- Staff issued with PPE and Perspex screens where required.
Visiting the Gardens
Do I have to pre-book a visit to The Gardens?
Day visitors are still required to pre-book to visit the gardens. Please book your visit here.
Do members have to pre-book?
No, members will now be able to visit without pre-booking and are advised to bring a valid membership card to gain access. However, you can still pre-book garden admission here.
Will I have to queue to enter the gardens?
On busier days, such as weekends, school holidays and bank holidays - and at busier times of the day, usually 10am to midday - queues to access the gardens can be expected. Social distancing whilst queuing is still a requirement, so please ensure a 2m distance between yourself and other visitors.
Can I book a visit on the day?
Slots can get booked quickly so it is advisable to always book online in advance, to avoid disappointment
Can Trentham pre-book a visit for me?
No, you must register and book your slots online.
Can I cancel my tickets?
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Please see our Terms & Conditions. In exceptional circumstances such as forced closure due to extreme weather conditions, please contact us with your booking reference and request a transfer date for your visit.
Do I need to wear a face mask?
We encourage our visitors to wear a face-covering when in enclosed spaces such as the Visitor Centre, shops, dining outlets and toilets.
Is there a one-way system around the lake?
No, you can now enjoy a lap around the lake in either direction.
Are the toilets open?
Our toilets remain open for use. Please follow the onsite guidelines when using these facilities.
My membership has expired. How can I book a visit?
You can renew your membership online to avoid queues or at the Gardens Entrance. You can purchase a day ticket online which can be redeemed towards the cost of a membership when you visit. You will need the day ticket booking reference for proof of purchase.
How do I replace my lost membership card?
There is an administration charge of £5 for a replacement card. Replacements can be purchased at the Gardens Entrance.
The online ticketing system says that my pass is invalid and I am unable to book a slot.

I want to become a Trentham Gardens member. How do I purchase a membership?
Memberships are available to purchase online or at the Gardens Entrance. If you are redeeming vouchers, these must be taken to the Gardens Entrance to process. More information about our annual memberships can be found here.
How do I obtain passes for my son/daughter who has recently turned three?
Please purchase at the Gardens Entrance or online.
Do I need to book a ticket for a child under 5?
No, children under 5 access the gardens free of charge and no ticket is required.
Why can’t I book a carers ticket?
You do not have to pre-book a separate carers tickets, just book a Disabled Person’s ticket for yourself and a carers pass will be allocated. You will still need to bring your carers pass, as proof.
Can I hire a wheelchair?
Yes, wheelchairs are free to hire from the Gardens entrance on a first-come first-served basis.
Can I purchase Gift Vouchers for Trentham?
Yes, you can purchase gift vouchers for memberships and day tickets for The Gardens, these can be purchased online or at The Gardens entrance. Vouchers for the retail shops can be bought directly with each retailer.
Do I need to print my tickets?
To speed up the entry time, please either print your tickets or download the QR code to your phone.
I can’t find my tickets – can I still visit?
If you booked online, please log in to your account and you will see the bookings you have made on the ‘Account’ page under ‘Your Bookings’. Note down your booking reference and quote this at the gardens entrance. If you pre-booked at the Gardens Entrance, then we will search for your booking on arrival using your surname and postcode.
Can we access the Gardens from the South Entrance?
The South Entrance to the Gardens from the Monkey Forest and Treetop Adventures remains temporarily closed whilst we prepare this entrance for our visitors.
How are we informed of closures to the Gardens?
We announce any path/garden closures on the home page of our website and on our social media channels – please check prior to travelling and booking tickets. Announcements cannot be made until all checks have been carried out by the grounds team which may cause a delay in opening.
Can I bring my dog with me?
Yes, dogs are welcome in the Gardens and Shopping Village, except during specific event days and evenings. More information can be found here.
Can all visitors, dog walkers and families, please ensure all dogs are kept on a tight lead, no drinking of the Lakeside water, no paddling or fishing or watersports. This is a precaution until we receive test results to confirm whether there is blue/green algae in the water.
