We thought we would take you for a behind the scenes virtual exploration of this lesser known part of Trentham Estate. You can get superb views from the lakeside walks towards the south end of the lake or from the banks of the River Trent from the southern entrance carpark. We do not have public access in this area being restored for biodiversity.

Between 7th-13th June, we are joining with many organisations across the UK to raise awareness of Growing for Wellbeing Week 2021 – celebrating the physical and mental wellbeing benefits that gardening and growing your own produce can bring.
We've had quite the cold and wet start to May after a dry spell in late April. With flurries of snow and hail at times, we've worn our winter coats for much longer this year, but the weather has certainly helped the flowers to start blooming around the gardens here at Trentham!
The oak and beech woodland of King’s Wood created by centuries of landscape management are a rich and rare habitat type at risk in modern western Europe covering only 2.5% of the UK. Ancient woods are irreplaceable. We cannot replace the complex biodiversity of ancient woods which has accumulated over hundreds of years. Many species that thrive in ancient woodland are slow to colonise. All ancient woodlands are unique and are distinctive. Once what little we have left is gone, it’s gone for good.
Our native bluebell, Hyacinthoides non-scripta, are a sight not to be missed here in our ancient woodlands, fleetingly here for only a few weeks. Millions of bulbs create scented violet-blue carpets that are such a springtime joy to walk through.
There are a variety of wonderful things to see around the woodland and lakeside at this time of year. Here's what to look out for... With a lovely sunny end to February, we are wrapping up warm again going into a very chilly start to March. We have so much colour poking through around the lakeside though promising warmer days!

The Trentham Estate is open in line with the Government Guidelines for the National Lockdown, this includes the Gardens and the Shopping Village, Garden Centre and for other essential retail, hospitality for takeaway and to facilitate click and collect where available.
