This month has been a good chance for the gardens team to crack on with making sure everything looks sharp and neat before the winter weather sets in. We’ve been clipping the Portugese laurels (Prunus lusitanica) in their beautiful Versaille inspired containers down the main walk of the Italian Garden.
Visitors to The Trentham Estate can help say ‘Thank You’ to all those who served and sacrificed in the First World War during a special remembrance event within the Shopping Village later this month.
In August we had a visit from the designer Tom Stuart-Smith. As regular readers of the garden’s blog will know, his design for the garden is the centrepiece to its successful rejuvenation. There is an amazing range of plants selected to suit our site, including some that you don’t often see in gardens open to the public.
Visitors to The Trentham Estate are being offered the chance to commemorate the end of the First World War and say ‘Thank You’ to all who served and sacrificed – by turning a green ‘field’ red with poppies at the popular Shopping Village.
It’s been a scorcher over the last few weeks here at Trentham, and most of our plants have been coping bravely with the extreme conditions. Watering is an almost daily routine for the gardens team, as we try to keep our new spring planting from getting too crispy!
