Trentham Shopping Village welcome new Farm Shop
Despite the current National Restrictions closing non-essential shops, new developments behind-the-scenes at Trentham Shopping Village look set to build on its success as one of the busiest high streets in Staffordshire. Though many of the shops still have their shutters tightly shut due to the Government’s latest restrictions, new stores are set to arrive soon, boosting the eclectic mix of retail stores on offer when the Village fully opens again.
The latest news on that front is the imminent arrival of a Farm Shop at the Shopping Village. Operated by Daniel Hosey - who has run the business for seven years, and who also runs the farm shop at Amerton Farm in Chartley, near Stafford, as well as a food outlet in Stoke Indoor Market - this new shop is expected to open during the lockdown period, and will have a strong focus on great value meat.
“We’ve had a good run, but the lockdown meant we lost a few of our outlets - especially those at outdoor events”,” explains 24-years-old Hosey, who runs the business with his fiancée, Emily Robertson (22). “So, our decision to open the shop here, at Trentham, is in response to that - but also based on us knowing the Shopping Village so well, and seeing how busy it can be. We also think our new customers here will find our range of produce amazing value.”
In addition to selling meats, Trentham Farm Shop will also stock fresh fruit and vegetables; eggs, homemade pies, sausage rolls and pasties; and a large selection of the well-known Mrs Darlingtons range.
Trentham’s Shopping Village has been one of the Estate’s great success stories since it reopened to the public 15 years ago.
Gareth Hine, Asset Manager at The Trentham Estate commented, “We are very proud of the way in which Trentham Shopping Village is performing – especially against the backdrop of a particularly difficult year for us all. Trentham Farm Shop follows in the footsteps of Trentham Cheese & Wine, Atelier Galleries, and The Portrait Gallery, which have all taken new stores since the end of the first lockdown. This latest letting underpins the increasing popularity of local and independent occupiers and takes the village’s occupancy rate to 97%”.
