What half term events are going on in Staffordshire? There’s lots to do at the Trentham Estate.
October half term is an opportunity to plan in some fun activities with the kids, grandkids, or children in your care. However, as the school holidays seem to appear from nowhere (every single time!) it can be difficult to plan entertaining and affordable activities at the last minute.
Finding something everyone will enjoy presents a challenge too – there’s only so many hours you can tolerate that movie that’s been watched 50 times or that game that you could play with your eyes closed.
Outdoor half term activities in Staffordshire
It’s time to de-stress and relieve the pressure of deciding what to do and where to go.
The award winning Trentham Gardens is the perfect destination for a half term day out. Head outdoors for fun and action, some delicious food and relaxation (in between all of the activity). Based in Staffordshire just off junction 15 of the M6, we also have a number of perfect half term activities. Spending time outdoors in a beautiful setting, with plenty to entertain the whole family, is the ideal day off from the day to day. We like to think of it as a holiday close to home!
The Halloween Trail
Join the Halloween Trail and earn a treat if you manage to avoid the Spooky Skeletons and conquer our Halloween games. Included in the garden admission, the Halloween Trail will take you and the kids on a spooky journey around our gardens. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Italian Gardens, the Rivers of Grass and the stunning Floral Labyrinth in the crisp Autumn weather.
Giant Pumpkins and Pumpkin Carving
Glacial Art will be here to demonstrate how to carve HUGE pumpkins and display them in the gardens for you to see on the 26 & 27 October. You can show off your skills and create your own ghoulish creations at our Pumpkin Carving workshops on the 30-31 October (£3 per pumpkin).
Wand and Broomstick Making
Become a witch or a wizard and learn how to make a wand or broomstick from materials you can find in your garden at home. Running from 26-29 October, this activity costs £1 per item.
Fairies at Trentham Gardens
Included in the garden admission, Trentham’s fairies are a permanent feature of the gardens and can be seen dotted around the lake and hidden in the woodland. Exploring the gardens and finding their hiding places is the perfect half term activity. People of all ages are intrigued by our fairy friends created by galvanised and stainless steel wire and each fairy is a true work of art! What better way to ignite the fantastical imagination of your young ones and get them off the PlayStation?
Bring the whole family along (including the dog) to take part in this enchanting activity, and finish off the day with cake and a coffee in one of the many eateries to choose from.
Feeling Crafty - Shopping Village Workshops
