The Trentham Estate announces first-ever Woodgate Music Festival

Having established itself as one of the Midlands’ favourite summer concert venues, The Trentham Estate is now moving swiftly up the charts by hosting its very own boutique two-day music festival - in partnership with Piper Music - at the end of September.

Currently offering a summer-long season of outdoor tribute performances each Saturday evening in an amphitheatre capable of hosting an audience of 3,000, The Trentham Estate now plans to hit the right note by staging the first ever Woodgate Festival in an area of the parkland which can host a crowd just short of 10,000 people.

The Woodgate Festival marks the reappearance of Trentham as a serious concert venue, which in the past has hosted the likes of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Pulp.

For the last decade, the lakeside amphitheatre in the gardens has staged a succession of tribute events which, while proving incredibly popular, have also resulted in a flood of requests for the appearance of “real” bands at the Staffordshire venue.

Now, Trentham aims to deliver just that - with a line-up of acts that have over 100 top 40 hits and 17 No.1 hits.

Saturday, September 28 will see 90s girl-band B*witched headline a back-in-time bonanza line-up with 5IVE, Atomic Kitten, Ben from Phats & Small, A1, Blazin Squad and Lolly completing the line-up.

Ben Adams of A1 expressed his excitement, “We can’t wait to get back on stage with some of our favourite bands to perform at the Woodgate Festival 2019. We’ll be playing our biggest hits including ‘Take on me’, ‘Same old brand new you’ and ‘Caught in the middle’ so make sure you get your tickets for what is sure to be an awesome day!”.

‘Wet Wet Wet is the headline act on Sunday, September 29, with Nik Kershaw and The South providing the support. “We’re delighted to be headlining Woodgate Festival at the gorgeous Trentham Gardens”, said Wet Wet Wet frontman Kevin Simm. “It’s going to be a special night so come along, hang out and dance to some brilliant tunes. See you in September!” added drummer Tommy Cunningham.

The Trentham Estate’s Director, Alastair Budd, added, “The Woodgate Festival is our biggest scale event yet, and we can’t wait to see our local audience and visitors from further afield coming to Trentham to hear ‘real’ bands for the first time in over a decade.”

Both gigs are outdoors and will be located in the parkland at Trentham Gardens.
