We’re excited to introduce our Trentham Staffy 🐾 - Staffordshire’s brand-new mascot and tour guide, now on display at Goods Yard, as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Staffordshire Day with @WeAreStaffordshire! 🎉

The sculpture was unveiled yesterday, and it was a proud moment to see the final design revealed - a real credit to the hard work and creativity of Stafford College students, working alongside award-winning local artist Lynne Hollingsworth.

You can now find Staffy at Goods Yard near Stoke-on-Trent train station as part of the Staffy Trail! 🗺️ It’ll be there for the duration of the trail before moving to its permanent home at Trentham Shopping Village. 🏡

Staffy is one of 11 giant sculptures placed across the county, each telling its own story and celebrating Staffordshire’s heritage, creativity and communities - with more locations still to come 👀. The trail is free to enjoy and runs for 10 weeks, making it an easy way to explore - whether you’re walking, cycling or using public transport! 🚶‍♂️🚲

To celebrate longer days and the return of summer migrants, we’re hosting a special Dawn Chorus event this Sunday 3 May on International Dawn Chorus Day! ☀️

We`re opening our doors at 4.45am, giving you the rare chance to wander through Trentham Gardens and the lakeside walk during sunrise. Swallows are back, and Garden, Sedge and Reed Warblers are back on site and already in full song - and a White Stork was even spotted over the lake recently! 🚤

For budding photographers, this is a great opportunity to capture Trentham before the crowds, and hear early morning birdsong. Last year, our wildlife photographers captured some amazing images! 🌟

And to top it all off, you might even catch a glimpse of our resident Eurasian beavers, active in the early morning - feeding, grooming, socialising, and sometimes even posing for photos! 🦫

We’re proud to be part of Staffordshire’s 10-year anniversary celebrations, and to mark the occasion, we’re showcasing a special exhibition created by the talented pupils of Forsbrook Primary 🎨

The children spent the day exploring Trentham’s past, present and future – from meeting our wildlife ranger to getting hands-on with nature. Inspired by their visit, they’ve created some fantastic artwork, now on display in Trentham Shopping Village for everyone to enjoy! 🌿
