February Half Term things to do

A fun filled adventure awaits you at The Trentham Estate this February Half Term

Enjoy a great day out this school holidays with animal workshops, fairies to spot and monkey antics.

Enjoy the Great Outdoors

It may be winter but there’s lots going on at Trentham Gardens this February Half Term. Join the RSPB from the 17-18 February as they make bird themed badges that you can take home with you. From the 19-20 join the experts of Heritage Falconry and enjoy static bird displays, see the birds up close and feel free to ask questions about these magnificent birds. Do you know which creatures can taste with their feet? Or, who gets more legs as they get older? The answers to these questions and many more can be found in the gardens on the 24-25 with the Mini Beast Encounters.

There’s nature of a different kind to find on a walk around Trentham Gardens this half term, with our Nature in Bronze installation, by artist David Meredith. See deer dash through the woodland, owls search for prey and giant tree frogs welcoming you in the Italian Gardens. Pick up a leaflet as you go through to the gardens entrance and enter our competition, in partnership with Glazed Art, to name the two deer. If your suggestion is chosen you win a David Meredith designed sculpture of your own!

A Winter Trip at Trentham

From Sunday 18 February, The Fern, Trentham’s own miniature train, will also chuff merrily along the lakeside throughout half term and it’ll be FREE for all passengers too!

That’s Not All...

Are the kids still looking for an adventure? Head to the playground where they can tackle the assault course, zoom down the zip wire and fly high on the swings. Tackle the Altitude Tower by conquering the climbing wall and enjoying an exhilarating slide back down to earth.

Walk along the lakeside and see if you can discover the fairies. You’ll first see Titania in the shopping village who points the way to the rest of her 14 fairy friends. The fairies aren’t the only thing you’ll find when walking along the lakeside, with Diving Otters, a Kingfisher and Stag Beetles hiding along the way.

Don’t forget, Trentham Monkey Forest reopens for February Half Term. As well as it being your first chance to see the monkeys in 2018, there will be face painting too!
