The Trentham Estate has something for everyone this February half term; from the stunning lakeside ice rink, award winning gardens and lakeside walks, to a visit amongst 140 free-roaming monkeys, it is the perfect place to dust off the cobwebs with a wintry day out.
After value fun for Valentine’s day? Partners go free* on 14th February. Try romantic skating on the ice rink** in a splendid setting on the side of the picturesque mile-long lake, with wonderful views of the Gardens in winter; a truly romantic setting to share a Valentine’s moment with your loved one.
Trentham is ideal for families too. So let the kids blow off some steam and get back to nature this half term – there’s no keep off the grass signs here so they can run wild, brave the Barefoot walk or monkey around in the adventure play areas and maze.
Monkeying around of a different nature can also be had, with the reopening of Trentham Monkey Forest*** for the first time for its 2010 season on the 13th February. It is a totally different walk-through wildlife experience where the monkeys roam free in 60 acres of forest, and visitors can literally step into their home and watch them at very close quarters. Guides will tell you all about these endangered animals and give feeding talks every hour. Why not travel there on the Trentham’s Miss Elizabeth – a lovely boat ride across the mile-long lake.
Once all your little monkey’s energy is exhausted warm up with a mug or two of hot chocolate in the stunning Italian Garden Tearoom overlooking the beautiful Gardens and Lake or try a spot of retail therapy in the Trentham Garden Centre and Shopping Village.
