Top regional marketing award for Trentham's Hot Summer Dates

The Trentham Estate has picked up more top praise after scooping a regional award for running the best social media initiative of 2012.
Earlier this year Trentham was Highly Commended at the country’s biggest tourism awards scheme when it was showcased as one of the Best Large Visitor Attractions in VisitEngland’s Excellence in Tourism Awards.
Now Trentham has done it again - this time, the marketing team has been recognised for the use of social media to promote the Hot Summer Saturday Date concerts and films.
Every Saturday evening in July and August, Trentham Garden’s lakeside amphitheatre host the Hot Summer Saturday Dates, which offer a chance for visitors to dance their way through the decades with an outdoor film or tribute band concert in a magnificent setting.
And at a glamorous ceremony Trentham picked up the Marketing Cheshire Annual Award for ‘Best Social Media Initiative of the Year’, one of four extra categories added to the line-up for 2012.
The Marketing Cheshire Annual Awards, in association with M&S Bank, recognise the outstanding work delivered by all sectors of the tourism and hospitality industry and the professionals who work in it.
Trentham scooped the new title for its ‘Hot Summer Saturday Dates’ campaign, which judges said achieved a fantastic return on a small budget using multiple channels.
“Their objectives were measureable and with the small budget allocated to the campaign they were able to generate a high return and exceed targets," said a spokeswoman from Marketing Cheshire Annual Awards
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have won this award. We’re great advocates of social media and feel it reaches our fans in a cost effective, flexible and fun way. Social media has given Trentham a personality and is a very accessible way for our visitors to stay in touch with us. We thoroughly enjoy communicating with visitors via our twitter, Facebook and YouTube sites. To get this level of recognition for our work - which is done entirely in-house, against such stiff competition, is just incredible,” said Amanda Dawson, Marketing and Promotions Manager.
