Monkey Love
27 January 2012

This February half term, Trentham Monkey Forest, is getting in the spirit of amour, with a new romantically themed photography competition for visitors, called ‘Monkey Love’.
Capture some ‘Monkey Love’ this February
Throughout the school holidays, the Monkey Forest team will be on the look out for a winning photograph and caption that they believe captures a display of true romance amongst the forest’s Barbary macaque monkeys.

The entrant who submits the best picture will be awarded a top prize of an exclusive ‘behind the scenes’ experience for two people at Monkey Forest. The winner and a friend will have the opportunity to feed the monkeys with Monkey Forest’s Head Guide when there is nobody else in the forest, and then have tea and cake afterwards. A second prize of a family pass and cuddly Barbary macaque monkey is also up for grabs.
“We hope that the competition will add lots of fun for our visitors and give them a chance to really observe the relationships between the monkeys” commented Director and Primatologist Sue Wiper. “We want to see any humorous and engaging snaps that visitors can capture and the competition is open to absolutely everyone, whether they are using a camera or just a mobile phone” she added.
The forest will open for its 2012 season for half term on Saturday 11th February - from 10am to 4pm. The competition will close for entries on Sunday 19th February; Monkey Forest will then open for weekends in March and every day from the 31st March.
